Training for Employees

As an employer, there are several ways you can upgrade your employees’ skills. The community and technical colleges offer a variety of training programs, many of which can be customized so the topics of your choice fit your schedule. Many can even be taught at your location. Paying for Training

The state offers a few ways to assist employers and employees to pay for job training.

The Job Skills Program is a matching funds program between the state and businesses for employee training. It’s designed for regions with high unemployment, and new and growing areas. Learn more here.

The Customized Training Program is an interest-free loan and a B&O tax cut available to growing businesses to upgrade their employees’ skills. Learn more here.

The Worker Retraining Program can help people who lost their jobs due to economic changes go back to school and get retrained in a new industry. In some cases, people at risk of unemployment can qualify. Learn more here.
